Google blimps to give Africa and Asia wireless internet: may/june 2013

Google Inc. plans to finance, build and help operate blimps and balloons to fly over African countries and Southeast Asia to help connect people to the internet.

The project also includes an "ecosystem of low-cost smartphones running Android on low-power microprocessors," according to Wired.
Google is also seeking permission to have its signals run on television airwaves in developing countries, so the signal can travel farther and through buildings, according to the report.
